Jamf - Device Management

Keep students focused, engaged and on track.

And keep teachers in control of their classrooms and parents in charge of their students.

Jamf Teacher app gives teachers the tools to manage their classrooms and keep students focused on their education.

Jamf Student app gives students automated device setup, access to school Apps, and document storage.

Jamf Parent app uses the power of MDM to provide management controls for parents, giving them the ability to limit apps and device functionality on student devices via macOS, iOS, watchOS and Android.

Jamf Assessment app enables live proctoring of web-based assessment exams and displays camera view and the exam itself in a single app so that proctors can keep students’ screens and third-party video screens on view at all times.

Which students are enrolled on the Jamf platform?

From September 2024 all new students to the College will be enrolled on the Jamf platform.

We apply restrictions when needed to help students manage their distractions and keep them focused and on task.

Our need to support students in managing their device decreases as they mature, and varies from year group to year group and from student to student.

As stated in our Behaviour policy, students who fall short in our expectations in using technology will be required to have their device enrolled on Jamf. In this way we can support the student to manage their behaviour in a positive way.

New students to the Sixth form are enrolled on Jamf, enabling us to pay for and distribute subject specific apps and digital textbooks efficiently.

It is increasingly more common for students to forget their iPad passcode, especially if they use Touch or Face ID, with Jamf passcodes can be instantly reset.

If an iPad is mis-placed/lost/left on the bus, with Jamf we can put the device in Lost mode, keeping data safe, until found.

Misconceptions:  What Jamf does not do?

  • We cannot see a student's screen.
  • App restrictions do not delete apps but hide them for the duration of the lesson.
  • Jamf restrictions only apply during term time from 8.30-15.30
